1st Place at Magic Online Challenge on 12-13-2020

I must admit I'm somewhat bummed about my first disillusionment with MTGO. I thought it was online magic paradise. That it was any format at any level on demand. It is set up to do so. I did not anticipate that a format may be dead, or that prelim's wouldn't fire. That's frustrating. I had laid out a path using my cheapest, strongest deck all the way to 20K + spoils. It seems I have miscalculated. Although, as Davita held out for me, I am able to play again, and how much have I enjoyed that? I hadn't played since before thanksgiving. In any form, this is welcome. And after some reassurance from my competitive friends, the other eternal formats are more healthy and fire more regularly.

While the proof is out yet, this suggests that I can still climb the ladder if I conform to the formats that actually play: Modern, legacy, and Vintage.  I have bought my pioneer deck, so I can use that as I desire and still practice with it. The format may be dead by time we get back to paper, so I might not want to keep obtaining cards for it. I think renting some cards from cardhoarder for a few weeks after the release coin stuff should let me dabble in the other formats before coming the whole of my wallet to it yet. If I can earn some tix off the forray, enough to cover the rental cost, then I can convert these into pieces for my decks, and turn the rental into a "layaway plan". 600 Tix, abot two decks worth of virtual cardboard, is $15 a week. That means something like 15 treasure chests a week or hitting a card that sells, not a small feat. I should keep a log to see if I recoup this cost.

This deck offers a way to utilize my current investment in MTGO pioneer for modern. I can work on this list, and I've been curious about the potential of sigarda's aid in modern anyway.
