Notes

I'm trying an experiment to try to find out what Lutri is really able to do. The experiment is seeing what are the most broken things you can do with Lutri as an 8th card and optimizing your deck to have these things occur more frequently. The initial shell will be built without the Lutri restriction to see what a completely optimal deck would do, it's angle of play, and whether in it's optimized for the deck is absurd. If so, try to reverse engineer the deck with singletons and have key playsets of the best cards in the side for game 2-3. The other avenue was fairly difficult to conceptualize what we were actually doing. The singletons hopely help create a diversity that enhances the deck, not renders it unfunctional.

At first glance Lutri is essentially a value machine. It's default mode is best in tempo based midrange shell where it can turn 2-1 into 4-1, such as commands or additional cost cards like eldritch evolution. It is not an engine per say, as doubling any given spell is seemingly not broken. The very best cards are contextual, especially the miracle spells. Double time walk is nuts, but only if you can compound the advantage. Similarly, double thunderous wrath with mystic sanctuary backup is powerful, but only if we are clocking their life total effectively. Become immense is potentially 12 damage in 1 card, but only if a creature is getting through unmolested and we have a graveyard.

My first impression leans towards that big cmc deck that controlled miracles and riddle of lightning. Like a clocking deck that can close out of nowhere. There is enough big stupid Eldrazi that I can try to create a loose shell around throwing them in play as well. Maybe somewhat of a blue moon shell?

I've seen it before and it continues to seem powerful to me, maybe this is the shell that makes it worth it: Goblin Engineer and Wishclaw Talisman. Wishclaw talisman seems really excellent for this deck. Perhaps as a package to bring in? When the deck is essentially stringing together a bunch of combo's, finding the other half of any given one is excellent.

Taking a step back at theory gives me a little more insight on what I want to do with the deck. I want to litterally be slippery like an otter. The idea is that my opponents will operate in a specific line towards a fix end. I want this deck to ask really different questions of "what can you do about this?" while having the ability to just flex my game plan. I can play long, short, to any odd ball angle of winning. I think a series of hurdles and a series of angles to win with some glue to hold them together. If deck A folds to angle B, employ C strategy. Drunken fist.
