This deck had a ton of buzz about it when Ali was developing, easy tournament crusher with a bad matchup to control. I wonder if the deck could be updated, there is so much new tech available, and a lot of unexplored territory.

There is the citadel list from todd too to draw from, and esper control I think. A combo version that's 5 c, a control version with teferi and rule of law. Flood of tears is the only problem I think? Realized citadel and mastery are non-bow.

In my mega dive there is an artifact version, a lifegain replacement package, a lifegain discard package, a vampire package, and a bunch of lifegain matters cards. Nailing the most efficient functional list is step two.

So far I've explored the combo package, the discard package, the surveil package, and the vampire package. What I've encountered is that the core really is Lich's Mastery/Chance for Glory/Revitalize/Ritual of Rejuvanation, and that the deck is base orshov. Both thought erausre and vicious rumors are desirable for the deck to grind our opponent out of resources and dig deeper into the deck, vicious rumors also acts as a win con. It is unclear how much scheming symetery pulls the deck together, but it should be by a fair amount. and increases the desire for little Teferi a whole lot. It is clear mana is the biggest consideration, as easy ramp is yet to be figured out. Doom whisperer+Lich with gaea's blessing and chance for glory in the deck should lead to immediate infinite turns, which should win through creature combat and vicious rumor loops. A lite splash of red, green, and blue is a somewhat challenge. Also a question is can we play enhanced surveillance over blessing. It's state based effect is pretty good with our plan, but it doesn't replace itself, it might let us cut green, but it's reshuffle might not be a guaranteed loop. 5 mana is what's needed to go infinite, although there is some variance with blessing draw sequences. If there are 30 or more black cards, then the diamond cards get real attractive. Vampire neonate is also interesting to stymie early aggression, have a non targeted win con and a guaranteed card draw every turn which smooths potential awkwardness. It also is another card that turns on arterial flow, an already attractive target.
