Notes

I feel like I bit on the wrong lure. There's a lot in the passive white department for modern. Better than enchantments though, Martyr went 9-0-1 plus in a SCG modern tournament. The player was not a pro, just knew their deck. Lifegain in a fair field of modern is vastly underrated, and Martyr is sick. If an untuned list can get in, what happens if you refine it.

I think a black splash offers a ton of payoffs and more options against unfair decks.Blood Baron is a real card that people forget about, and much like sun titan you will get to cast it. It's a 10/10 flying life linker that can't be removed by Death's shadow decks. It also appears like a win more, but it's actually just completely decent. People think serra ascendant is the only payoff, but black also has Ayli, anguished unmaking, Kambal for storm, and atheros. Atheros is serious payoff, as it tacks a bolt onto every sacrifice. If you are thinking choice cards are bad, the key is to design around an obvious answer, and then it i easier to evaluate. Atheros reads, "Whenever a creature you control dies, dome the opp 3." If they return, their dumb or desperate, and you win. Then you punish them with reanimation. Later in the game you get to just free roll everything, and it also restocks your hand for Martyr. Atheros is also activatable, path the only removal for it, and lasts through a wrath. Death cultist is a continual burn spell equal to 4+ drain. Legendaries take up space in hand, and leyline of sanctity is just a free win sometimes, or takes up space in the hand. Chalice of life seems sick.

Deadeye tracker as main deck graveyard hate and card advantage. It has the same short comings of Skred, very low selection. Definitely doesn't have the redundancy and reliability of storm or prime time. But I think it has some haymakers that make it good., and the life gain acts as a blow out to to the fair decks. Need to use the access to black to attack the unfair decks more.
