Notes

As I have yet to make a good B/R vampire deck since Kolchak (end of 2011), I am back at it. This time I am less purely vampiric, letting some natural multicolor poking mix in. I wanted to limit the load on either side’s needs for colored mana. There are 30 black and 27 red symbols, including those for casting Veinfire Borderposts, but not those for leveling and activating the Guul Draz Assassins. For this, I transferred one basic land in the mix to black, which also has the bulk of the cards that require more than one of a single color of mana. At the end of the day, only 19 actual vampires are in the deck, with the other 6 creatures split evenly between humans and thrulls. The remainder is basically either mana or direct damage. This should allow me to manage my opposition a little more, removing the problem experienced by the last such deck. The curve is a fairly kind (1)/12/11/16, with a pair of cards at the 3-spot able to come in for 1. Even without that, it makes for a 2.05 average and should be reasonably fast.
