Notes

This is the first offshoot of Swirlie, combining the core of that deck with some red energy to supercharge the Bloodchief Ascension component (and just plain do more damage). The energy side of things is a good assist in general, and I accomplish it through creatures as well as instants. The inclusion of red also allows me to make late-game use of the flashback ability on Bump in the Night, though this time I took fewer since it was a sorcery and could only target a player. Despite the cost difference up front, Staggershock is a much better deal overall, triggering twice as an instant that can target creatures and players, but for less than half the cost of the black card. The 18/15/7 curve averages only 1.73. The red is more expensive than the black and more demanding of colored mana symbols, so there is a slight lean toward mountains. The name is a play on Fahrenheit 451 (this is the same temperature), as this is a burn deck that achieves burn of cards by the burn of energy spells.
