Notes

As black was all about death and putrescence, I headed in that direction. I had already been building a lot of decks lately around death, but I had often tipped things toward messing with my opponent. Here, I go all out with optional sacrifices, less life gaining, and big punishment for the death of, well, anything. Blood Artist was a must-have, but Blustergrub, Death Cultist, Fume Spitter, and Mortis Dogs all can either be sacrifices or deal damage when they die. Vampire Hexmage, Geth's Verdict, and Painful Quandary each add to the stench, and Quest for the Gravelord strikes back. Visions of Brutality, though I only have the one copy, could hamper a larger creature or cut a key attacker or blocker out at a critical moment. The 19/11/4/4/2 curve averages a mere 1.98, with the high end all being taken by powerful game-changers, any of which could come into play on turn one with the help of Dark Rituals.
