A suggestion, some whips. Your plan here is very yolo on losing life. Whipping for the lifelink can be really relevant. It also gains you off guttersnipe triggers. That is how jund was able to survive so long in eternal formats, the lifegain from originally ooze, then deathrite, became very relevant when you have to grind out a win. I forsee this deck having a similar feel.

I agree, I've been puzzling over how to add lifegain for some time. My only two thoughts were Gray Merchant and Whip. The former is too expensive for too little gain, so rejected out of hand. The latter still gives me pause....4CMC is risky, but I hadn't considered that it DOES gain life off of Guttersnipe triggers. Thankfully I own a grip of them, so I can swap some in and test it out easily and see how it goes.

Hehe it sure does. In the old standard I had a silly izzet brew with curiosity. I was playing vs esper control and 20-0'd a guy off a counter war since curiosity triggered off snipe's damage to draw more.

Whip seems to be working well enough. I think 2 is the correct number, if I play 3 or 4 I draw in multiples. At 2, I have only seen a duplicate once, and usually drew it by turn 7 or 8 when I can afford to drop 4 mana and still keep up kill spells.

Just need to work on the sideboard some more. I feel like I want counterspells for the UWx matchups, but at the same time I feel like I just Slaughter Games whatever I'd want to counter (win cons, Sphinx's Rev).

Aetherize seems weak, I would adjust to run more anger of the gods and the new black -3/-3 all for the tuned matchups. I think 2 counterflux is the right number. Maybe 2 aetherling in the board? Three seems excessive.
