Just as Animar is my favorite Multiplayer EDH general, Kaalia wears the 1v1 crown. I mean, cheating Dragons, Angels and Demons into play attacking has got to be in the list of best things to do in Magic, specially if you have a track record of playing with monsters-like creatures, like say, I do.
Our gameplan is quite simple here: ramp early and abuse disrupt effects to clear the way for Kaalia and our winged friends, aiming our removal on creatures that could block/kill her and stripping our opponent's hand of answers. Once Kaalia is online, we have an impressive fast clock that makes even some aggro decks quite jealous.
We need to be extremely smart when playing blue decks packing lots of counters. To further improve our disrupt package, some tools have been incorporated with the sole purpose of keeping the fight fair against blue mages, such as Price of Glory, Defense Grid and Grand Abolisher.
Every Dragon, Demon and Angel has been carefully chosen to fulfill more than the simple beater objective. They look to somehow help in our total disruption plan or increase our overall power in the board.
This list also offers a possible turn 3 kill with Kaalia out of a Hall of the Bandit Lord, bringing Master of Cruelties. If no defenders are declared, Kaalia finishes the job after the Master's ability resolves.
