Based on your notes, what do you think about adding cards like Growing Ranks, Rootborn Defenses, and Sundering Growth?

That's precisely what I had in mind, Mike.  I think I got the idea from your Splice of Life deck.  I made this deck back during Mirrodan and haven't really incorporated the newer stuff.

Ah, I see. I decided to go full tilt on the splicer/golem aspect and made a few changes over the weekend. I'm trying to balance my curve vs. how many golems can I make in the shortest amount of time. I'd love to see how a mirror match would play out with my deck vs. yours.

Shortening the curve is ESSENTIAL to a slow-build deck like this one.  That's why I tossed in those Chronomatons; they let me get Golems out early, but are pumpable enough so that they're not liabilities later on.

Wouldn't it be cool to just have online matches like this?  I'd be all over that.

I actually play a friend of mine using Facebook's messaging feature. It's crude, but it works surprisingly well. The same could be done with Twitter, GMail chat, and other networks, I'm sure. You just need to be patient about reiterating the board state.
            • Kooshster | 29-Oct-2013 17:28
I'm not familiar with that.  Is it an App?
              • deleted_user_16 | 29-Oct-2013 17:33
Facebook Messenger is an app, but my friend and I simply use the messages tab when we're logged on. Either way works ... it's a text-based back-and-forth conversation, sort of like what we have going on here.
                • Kooshster | 29-Oct-2013 17:39
Interesting...so how do you keep track of everything that's going on on the battlefield, mana count, etc?
                  • deleted_user_16 | 29-Oct-2013 17:42
We state it in the chat. Here's an example of how this could work:
Me: "Plains, tap for one, Chronomaton. Pass to you."
                    You: "Forest. Pass to you."
Me: "Plains. Attack with Chronomaton for 1 damage. Pass to you."
You: "Plains. Tap two, Copper Myr. Pass to you"
and so on and so forth
                    • Kooshster | 29-Oct-2013 18:38
Oooh, that's a fun idea.  Wish deckbox had a system to draw instead of just one hand at a time.  I'd have to have my deck on hand to draw properly and ensure that the deck worked out.
          • deleted_user_16 | 29-Oct-2013 17:31
And you just gave me a great idea about Chronomaton ... they'd be a better tribal fit vs. the Memnites I have now.
            • Kooshster | 29-Oct-2013 18:39
              Totally!  Glad it'll help. :)

I already made good use of Sundering Growth in a few Modern games. Destroy a threat AND get a new token? That's awesome. :-)
